Abu Dhabi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the BAPS hindu temple in Abu Dhabi on 14 Feburary. The Temple features exquisite marble carving crafted from over 25,000 pieces of stone by artians from Rajasthan in India.
After the massive consecrated of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, this is second such event in United Arab Emirates (UAE) capital’s Abu Mareikhah neighbourhood where Prime minister Modi visits.
The Indian prime minister’s visit will boost up the strategically important between two countries after 34 years of former prime minister Indira Gandhi.
The project was initially inaugurated first time in February 2018 but UAE decided to alott the land in Abu Dhabi for setting up temple in 2015 during Modi’s first visit.
The construction was started in December 2019. There are three other Hindu temples located in Dubai.
According to Suhas Mehta, a Dubai based businessman, it will be pround moment for Indians staying in Dubai and our entire nation that prime minister Narendra modi will be visiting here to inaugurate BAPS temple.
“Few days back Modi ji inaugurated Ram temple in Ayodhya and now BAPS temple in here that will depict the Hindu culture and make our worship strong that we can come and join regular prayers in every corner of world and Dubai also, this is remarkable moment for us”, Mehta said.
The temple is spread in 27 acres of land in Abu Mureikhah cost of Rs 700 crore with 32.92 metres high and 54.86 metres wide.
A large prayer rooms alomg with amphitheatre, gallery, library, food court and other major well equipped facilities, can accommodate over 5,000 people easily.
With pink sandstone intricate carvings brought from northern part of Rajasthan, the temple was being built using marble façade.
The temple’s foundation incorporates 100 sensors while over 350 sensors are strategically placed throughout the structure can easily monitor earthquake activity.
