Ukraine-Russia war

MOSCOW: President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday warned the West, Russia is prepared for nuclear war and that if the U.S. sent troops to Ukraine, it would be considered a significant escalation of the conflict.

Putin’s said during a recent television interview just ahead of Russian Presidential Election, asserting that if U.S deployed American troops on Russian territory or to Ukraine-Russia, Russia would treat the move as an intervention.

Putin delivered a resounding message of strength and readiness for nuclear capabilities and readiness for conflict.

He also asserted that Russia’s nuclear forces were on “constant alert” and claimed superiority over the US in developing advanced nuclear-capable weaponry.

Addressing concerns about the possibility of nuclear warfare, Putin said, “From the military-technical point of view, we are, of course, prepared.”

Despite tensions, he expressed skepticism that the US would initiate nuclear warfare in the near future, asserting, “If they are — what can we do? We’re prepared.”

Putin’s remarks come amidst ongoing military operations in Ukraine, where Russia’s intervention has sparked international concern and condemnation. Despite facing setbacks in the region, Putin exuded confidence in Russia’s military campaign, declaring that the nation was “winning the war in Ukraine.”

While Putin acknowledged the gravity of using tactical nuclear weapons, he affirmed Russia’s readiness to deploy such arms if deemed necessary to safeguard national sovereignty. Emphasising the principle of deterrence, he stated, “Weapons are there to be used.”

Despite international apprehension, Putin dismissed the notion of using tactical nuclear weapons during Russia’s lowest point in Ukraine in 2022, citing strategic considerations. However, he emphasized that Russia could resume nuclear testing in response to similar actions by the US, underscoring the nation’s unwavering commitment to maintaining military readiness.

A week before, a news report came to light that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi played a crucial role intervening between Russia and Ukraine war.

Amidst the U.S urged PM Modi, he played an important role in averting a nuclear disaster, Modi told Putin that ‘This is not a era of war,”

As tensions escalating between Russia and Ukraine, Putin’s bold assertions highlight the complexities of global security dynamics and the enduring threat of nuclear proliferation. While diplomatic efforts continue to mitigate tensions, the specter of nuclear conflict looms large over the international stage.
