IPL 2024: Travis Head Makes IPL Fastest Century for Sunrisers Hyderabad

Travis Head's fastest IPL century.

BENGALURU: In a stunning power-hitting, Travis Head on Monday etched his name in the annals of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s history by notching the fastest century for the franchise during their IPL 2024 clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, surpassing the previous record set by David Warner, Head’s century off a mere 39 deliveries left spectators in awe.

Taking charge at the top of the order, Head unleashed a barrage of boundaries and towering sixes en route to his scintillating century, which comprised nine fours and eight maximums.

This remarkable feat also marked his maiden IPL century, solidifying his position as a force to be reckoned with in the tournament. However, his blitzkrieg innings came to an end after scoring 102 runs off just 41 deliveries, falling victim to Lockie Ferguson’s delivery.

Head’s breathtaking century ranks as the fourth fastest in IPL history, trailing only behind Chris Gayle, Yusuf Pathan, and David Miller.

Notably, he eclipsed the previous record held by fellow Australian David Warner, who achieved a century off 43 deliveries against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017.

With this remarkable performance, Head not only propelled Sunrisers Hyderabad to a formidable total but also etched his name in IPL folklore, leaving an indelible mark on the tournament’s rich history.
