All eye are on the Maharashtra Assembly elections scheduled to take place alter this month. Political parties are gearing up to attract the voters by putting up their agendas that they promise to do for the people if elected in power. The ruling party which is confidant of its win has beefed up campaigning in the state.
The ruling Mahayuti, predominantly dominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in a bid to explore new social engineering strategies designed a consolidate support among various caste and community groups.
Political pundits opine that such strategies are part of a broader electoral strategy to counter the challenges posed by the Opposition Maha Vikas Agade (MVA) – a coalition of the Congress, the Nationalist Congress Party (SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT) – which has been aggressively campaigning across Maharashtra after it dealt a rude jolt to the ruling alliance in the Lok Sabha results by leading on 30 of the 48 seats in the State.
Well, it’s poll time in the state and in today’s social tech-savvy age, it won’t be surprising to see other political parties coming up with such ideas. It may become ‘old wine in new bottle’ but the ultimate goal for all is to win the elections.
