After loosing Haryana, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has turned its attention to the forthcoming Assembly elections in Delhi scheduled early next month. The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) however, has been demanding for an early polls.
On Wednesday, AAP national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched his party’s ‘Jan Sampark’ campaign ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections. The party workers will reach out to Delhiites under the campaign and would give them the letter from Kejriwal telling people the “truth” behind his arrest and that of other party leaders in corruption cases.
“I have prepared a letter and our workers will go door to door with this letter till October 29,” said Kejriwal.
Well, it is too early to come to conclusion if the Delhi voters would bring back AAP or they would go for BJP or Congress (which is no where near the competition till date). AAP might try to prove they had nothing in the liquor scam, people in Delhi had witnessed how the city had turned into a liquor hub with liquor shops opening at every nook and corner in the city including opposite institutional and religious places which is not allowed according to masterplan of the city. Numerous anti social activities including the rape of woman by a liquor mafia in East Delhi had raised concern but AAP had turned a deaf ear to all the allegations.
There is no doubt that the BJP will leave no stone unturned to encash the liquor politics in the upcoming Assembly polls in Delhi.
