Maharashtra is gearing up for Assembly polls. Political parties are busy holding talks, negotiation with allies ahead of seat sharing equations in the state. Will Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) be able to put a dent on the Shiv Sena vote bank.
On Saturday, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, informed about the seat sharing. Maha Vikas Aghadi is reportedly in the final phase of talks on a seat-sharing pact, the ruling Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction).
Addressing the journalists, Devendra Fadnavis elaborated on the seat-sharing discussions among the three parties. “We have reached seat sharing talks in the final phase. We will finalize the remaining seats in the next two days. It has been decided that the cleared seats should be announced by the respective party at their convenience.”
Fadnavis said that the Maharashtra BJP will be ready with the first candidate anytime.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde addressed the Press and informed about the seat sharing. Shinde said, “Yesterday, a meeting was held with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Mahayuti’s seat-sharing was discussed, and positive progress was made. The discussions are in the final phase, and the seat-sharing arrangement will be finalized soon.”
