First trains were targeted then the airlines that received multiple bomb hoax calls compelling the Aviation and Home Ministry to hold meeting with security agencies. Still the issue is creating problem for the airline companies. Now, multiple bomb hoax calls were received by hotels in the temple town of Tirupati.
Emails were sent to three hotels informing about bomb. There was a scare wave among the guests in the hotels predominantly devotees who had come to visit the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple atop Tirumala Hills to have darshan of Lord Tirupati. The hotel owners reported the matter to police.
Police pressed sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squads into service after three private hotels received the bomb threats through emails.
The police which immediately pressed the sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squads said the Email read, “Pak ISI to activate Improvised EDs in listed hotels, Evacuated by 11PM! TN CM involved.”
The email mentions that due to the recent arrest of Jaffer Sadiq of DMK, “international pressure” has mounted.
Jaffer Sadiq, a former member of Tamil Nadu’s ruling party DMK. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had arrested him in February this year, on charges of smuggling narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The email also links Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to the case.
“Thus, such blasts (sic) in schools are necessary to divert attention away from M. K. Stalin family’s involvement in the case,” added the email.
Tirupati East Police Station have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and investigating into the matter.
