US Elections 2024: Trends show Trump much ahead of Harris, counting underway

In seven swing states in the United States of America, its Republican candidate and former President, Donald Trump moving ahead of his rival Democrat’s Kamala Harris. Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are the key states that play a decisive role. However, the swing states might also cause a possible delay in the reaching the name of the race’s winner. 

It’s too early still and all these are trends. The picture will be clear in a few hours from now.

Republican is racing ahead on 198 electoral votes, while Democrats is leading on 112. Both candidates need at least 270 electoral votes to win the presidency. This election is seen as one of the most consequential in recent US history.

Trump is leading in states such as Missouri, Oklahoma, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, West Virginia, Indiana, and Kentucky.

California was once a stronghold for the Republican Party until 1990’s. In 2024 elections, the numbers are interesting with a wave towards Harris.

As per the numbers, the Republicans are leading with 198 electoral votes in the overall race, having secured victories in 16 states, including Texas and Florida. Harris, who is hoping to become the first woman to hold the office of President, has claimed 109 electoral votes from eight states.

Kamala Harris maintains strong support among young and Black voters in Georgia. About 86% of Black voters in the state have cast their ballots for Harris, and approximately 60% of voters under 30.

Too early to conclude but trends show that its a Republican wave blowing over the USA. Counting is in progress and the picture will be clear within a few hours.
