On Wednesday, today, Assembly elections were held for the first phase in Jharkhand. 64.86 per cent was recorded till 5 pm in the 43 out of 81 seats in the state.
“Polling was marked by a festive mood and enthusiastic participation across all districts, with large tribal population, including areas affected by Left Wing Extremism,” the Election Commission said in a statement.

According to Election Commission highest voting took place in Lohardaga district with 73.21% polling while Hazaribag district recorded the lowest at 59.13.

Former CM Champai Soren and ex-MP Geeta Kora were among the 683 candidates in fray in the first phase.
Second and last phase of polling will take place on November 20, 2024. Counting of votes will commence on November 23.
