US President elect Donald Trump has appointed former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard as his US Intelligence Chief.
Gabbard, holds the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve. She has combat experience in Iraq. She was also deployed in Kuwait. Gabbard was a representative from Hawaii’s second district in the US House of Representatives for four terms from 2013 to 2021. While she was in the House, she was a Democrat.

Gabbard left Democrats in August this year, she formally endorsed Trump in his presidential elections. In October, she announced she was joining the Republican Party at a Trump rally in North Carolina.
Trump secured all seven swing states, including Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Nevada in US Presidential election 2024.

Trump met President Joe Biden in the Oval Office of the White House where Biden welcomed Trump and congratulated him following his victory, saying that he looks forward to a smooth transition.”Congratulations, looking forward to having a, like we said, smooth transition — do everything we can to make sure you’re accommodated, and what you need. We’re going to get a chance to talk about some of that today,” Biden said in the meeting with Trump.
