A viral video from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh shows a groom chasing a truck driver who allegedly stole a currency note from his garland.
The groom, Dev Kumar, was riding his horse after the traditional ghudchadhi when he chased a thief who reportedly snatched a currency note from his garland and sped off. The entire episode happened in a wink of an eye, it looked like a scene straight out of an action movie.
Journalist Piyush Rai shared a video of the chase on X (formerly Twitter), which quickly became a viral sensation. According to the reports, the thief was driving a pickup truck and the groom wasn’t ready to let it go. He began his pursuit by asking for a lift from a motorist and chased the pickup driver on a busy road. The thief didn’t stop but the determined groom refused to give up. The video shows Dev Kumar clinging onto the truck as it sped along the road. He shocked the viewers when he made his way to the passenger window of the truck and forced the driver to stop the vehicle.
Once the vehicle was stopped, the groom, along with his relatives, confronted the thief. The video, recorded by a passerby, shows the groom and his family giving the thief a rough time with slaps and punches.
The Meerut Police quickly responded to the viral video, stating, “Partapur Police Station has been directed to take action.”
