AAP-Congress Alliance Sparks Allegations of CBI Arrest to Delhi CM Kejriwal

New Delhi: Following reports of an alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress for Delhi’s seven Lok Sabha seats, AAP and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) engaged in a verbal duel, with AAP alleging that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) could arrest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal within the next two or three days due to the alliance.

Delhi’s Health Minister, Saurabh Bharadwaj, stated, “The alliance with the INDIA bloc for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Delhi and other states is nearly finalized.” He added, “We will soon make an official announcement, along with the finalized seat-sharing pact, which has been mutually agreed upon by both parties’ high commands.”

Bharadwaj also criticized the BJP, accusing the central government of misusing its probe agencies. He mentioned that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had issued a seventh summons against Arvind Kejriwal earlier, and now the CBI is allegedly being used to arrest the Chief Minister.

“We want to tell the BJP: arrest Kejriwal if you want to, but the alliance between AAP and Congress will proceed,” asserted Bharadwaj. “BJP cannot stop our alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.”

As per the seat-sharing formula, leaders from both parties confirmed a four-three-seat pact, with AAP contesting four seats and Congress three in Delhi.

Bharadwaj claimed that AAP received information from reliable sources about the possibility of Kejriwal’s arrest following the seventh summons from the ED.

He alleged that the CBI is preparing to arrest the CM, and accused the BJP of misusing its machinery due to the apprehension of losing seats because of the AAP and Congress alliance.

“All seven seats in Delhi are presently held by BJP MPs, while both AAP and Congress favour an alliance in Delhi,” Bharadwaj further added.
