Bajaj Auto, a prominent player in the Indian automotive market and renowned for its innovative approach to vehicle manufacturing, is set to introduce a game-changing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)bike, a first-of-its-kind on the Indian roads.
Recent sightings of the prototype undergoing testing signal the brand’s commitment to expanding its fuel options beyond traditional petrol-powered models for growing demand for eco-friendly fuel alternatives in the country.
The prototype, believed to be introduced Bruzer 101, boasts several distinctive features tailored for CNG compatibility. Its elongated and flat seat design hints at accommodations for the CNG cylinder, while a spacious gap in the fuel tank facilitates easy access to the fuel lid. Notably, the bike is equipped with a unique blue button that enables seamless switching between CNG and petrol modes, enhancing convenience for riders.
Additionally, the CNG bike incorporates essential components such as hand guards, a telescopic fork, mono shock, and a rear drum brake setup, ensuring optimal performance and safety on the road.
Bajaj Auto’s foray into the CNG bike segment aligns with its broader vision to offer eco-friendly mobility solutions to consumers.
The company aims to produce the 110cc CNG bike initially at its Aurangabad facility, with plans for subsequent manufacturing at its Pant Nagar plant. Anticipating robust demand, Bajaj has revised its production targets to approximately 2 lakh units per annum, reflecting its confidence in the potential success of the CNG bike.
In recent years, the popularity of CNG vehicles has surged due to advancements in technology, offering consumers more choices and improved performance. However, the two-wheeler category has remained largely untapped in the CNG segment, until now.
As environmental concerns continue to drive the automotive industry towards sustainable alternatives, Bajaj’s innovative initiative represents a significant step forward in revolutionizing the two-wheeler segment with eco-conscious mobility solutions.
With its pioneering CNG bike on the horizon, Bajaj Auto is poised to redefine the landscape of two-wheeler transportation, offering consumers a greener and more efficient mode of travel while addressing the pressing need for eco-friendly mobility solutions in India’s urban landscape.
