The current religious persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh followed the political coup in which the 10th elected Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee Dhaka on August 5, 2024 and replaced by caretaker Prime Minister Mohammad Yunus.

The persecution of countless Hindus, stripping them of security, dignity and their lives took place at rampant. The recent arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, spokesperson of Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatan Jagaran Jote in Bangladesh is a matter of deep concern.

The Hindu community is facing persecution, discrimination, violence, and societal challenges that hinder their freedom and growth in Bangladesh. The extremist elements are indulging in cases of arson, thefts, vandalism while attacks and looting of minorities go unchecked. The desecration of Hindu deities and temples is unfortunate and resentful. The rising cases of religious hate crime in Bangladesh is abhorrent.

We are grateful to US President elect Donald Trump, US Director National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their support against Hindus Genocide in Bangladesh.

This meeting aims to shed light on these ongoing struggles, honor the resilience of minorities and foster dialogue towards justice and greater protection for minority rights with the Bangladesh government. We demand the Bangladesh Government for the safety and security of Hindus and all minorities for their right to freedom of speech and dignity of life.
