Powerful explosion rocked near the CRPF school in Rohini’s Prashant Vihar early on Sunday morning. The blast damaged the school wall, nearby shops, and a car. There were no damages to life according to officials of the Delhi Fire Services.
“We received a call regarding a blast near the boundary wall of CRPF school at 7.50 am. We immediately rushed two fire engines to the spot. There was no fire and no one was injured due to the blast, so our vehicle returned,” said Delhi Fire Service official.
Immediately, bomb squads, and police forensic teams. Senior police officers, including those from the crime branch and the Special Cell, also reached the spot. The Special Cell of the Delhi Police terror unit also reached the spot.
According to prima facie reports, the material that triggered the blast appeared to be a crude bomb. However, exact reason will be known only after forensic reports come.
The initial investigation suggests some terror angle behind the blast.
There is a scare wave among the residents in the area.
