WASHINTON: Millions of Facebook, Instagram and Messenger users struggled to log back in and access their accounts but were later found disappointing due to a technical glitch as the majority of them struggled to load the apps or websites as normal. The Meta apologised to users for the trouble.
When the users could not access their accounts over an hour to feed the updates and posts, they shared their outrages on the social media ‘X’ with the bombardment of mixed reactions against the technical glitch.
“I think this time someone hacked my Instagram account, even my Facebook account is not being accessed. How can we trust third-party applications? This is the Artificial Era, even my photos and messages are not safe,” one of the users, Shira Fernandes asserted.
Having warnings about being logged out led to widespread concern among users that their accounts had been hacked, A spokesperson Andy Stone posted on ‘X’ to clear the picture that Meta was aware of the problems and apologized to users for the inconvenience.
“Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have difficulty accessing some of our services. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience,” Andy Stone said.
However similar posts were also seen on the official handles of ‘Instagram’ and ‘Facebook’ on ‘X’
“Hi, we know that people had difficulty accessing IG earlier today. We resolved the issue and are back,” Instagram said on ‘X’
While the Meta Newsroom said, “We know some people were having trouble accessing our apps earlier. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused, and thank you for your patience while our teams worked quickly to resolve,”
