Shiv Ganga Seva Samiti and Chhath Puja Welfare Society organized an award ceremony for the migrant organizations of Purvanchal society who serve the fasting people by setting up camps at Chhath Ghats in Shashi Garden of Patparganj Assembly constituency.
More than 500 workers from over of more than 50 organizations were honored. The program was presided over by former MLA of Patparganj and former President of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) Chaudhary Anil Kumar graced the occasion.

The DPCC Chief said, “Chhath is a symbol of India’s culture and heritage, which is celebrated with enthusiasm by the people of Purvanchal society. Chhath festival gives the message of spirituality as well as natural conservation. From worship to food, everything is satvik and offering arghya to the rising and setting sun while remaining waterless promotes spiritual faith.”
“Delhi Government Tirtha Sahayata Yojana was started during late Sheila Dixit Ji was in power in Delhi. The objective of the project was to was to provide financial help to the organizations in which 4.50 lakh rupees were given to the organizing committees.” “The present government has started politicising the committees that help in organizing this Puja. Pressure is being exerted on the organisations to nominate their workers as president. The public will not tolerate this dominance and dictatorship,” added Chaudhary.
He said that though the Congress party is not in the government in Delhi, despite this, Congress will always play a leading role in the happiness and sorrow of the people of Purvanchal society and will raise their voice for their rights.
Anil Chaudhary prayed to Chhath Maiya for the happiness and prosperity of the Patparganj area.
The team of Purvanchal Chhath Puja Committee has been organizing the Chhath Puja, for the past 15 years. The people of Bihar are getting the facility of worship and offering arghya near their place of work and residence.
