French Football Star Paul Pogba banned for Doping

Sad and heartbroken news for millions of football fans as The France international footballer Paul Pogba has been handed a provisional suspension by Italy’s national anti-doping organization (NADO Italia) after testing positive for DHEA, a banned substance known to elevate testosterone levels.

The 30-year-old footballer, currently under contract with Juventus until June 2026, vehemently denied any wrongdoing, expressing profound sadness and shock at the decision.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Pogba asserted his innocence, affirming his commitment to fair play and integrity throughout his career.

“I am shocked and shattered that everything I have built and gained in my professional career has been taken away from me. As a professional athlete, I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances and to spoil my play,”

Expressing his intent to challenge the suspension, Pogba announced his intention to appeal the decision before the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the highest judicial body in sports.

While Juventus refrained from commenting on the matter, sources confirmed that the club had been informed of the suspension and would deliberate on the appropriate course of action.

Pogba’s tenure at Juventus has been fraught with challenges, marked by persistent injuries following his departure from Manchester United in 2022 on a free transfer.

His contributions on the field were significantly curtailed last season due to knee and hamstring injuries, culminating in knee surgery that precluded his participation in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
