Go Dharmic, a global humanitarian and environmental movement, hosted the first-ever ‘Diwali Gala’ at Westminster, London, England, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. The event was attended by distinguished guests who gathered to celebrate the spirit of Diwali with the theme ‘Be The Light’, spreading the message of peace, compassion, and non-violence toward all living beings.

The highlight of the event was the launch of the book “Ahimsa: Making Peace with Nature,” a transformative work edited by Hanuman Dass, founder of Go Dharmic. The book includes valuable insights from famous voices and climate advocates across the globe – Dr. Nicholas Sutton, Maneka Gandhi, Krishna Das, Dr. Iyad Abumoghli, Sadhguru, and Ela Gandhi among others. In his opening address, Hanuman Dass articulated Go Dharmic’s vision: “Our mission is to bring light to the world through compassion and positive action. Just as Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, we encourage everyone to ‘Be the Light.’ This festival serves as a reminder of the power of kindness, generosity, and peace—values we strive to embody in all our endeavors.”

“It was incredible to join Go Dharmic at their wonderful Diwali Gala dinner in Westminster’s iconic Central Hall. Being surrounded by people who shared a common mission to see a world filled with compassion and love. These inspiring young people at the heart of Go Dharmic are truly remarkable. They are creating a legacy of peace and sustainability across the world,” said Baroness Sandip Verma, who expressed her views on her engagement with the event.

Heather Mills and Ed Winters delivered heartfelt speeches emphasizing the alignment of human values with environmental action, highlighting collective compassion as a pathway to sustainable living and universal social flourishing.

Hanuman Dass echoed the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “This book is a call to action. Non-violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind; it is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction. In these times of environmental crisis, we must be the force that protects, heals, and preserves our planet.”
