Groom Faces Legal Action for Stunting on SUV In the Middle of ‘National Highway’ During Wedding Procession

Indian Groom faced Police action

UTTAR PRADESH: In a bid to create a spectacle and capture social media fame during his wedding procession, a groom from Saharanpur found himself in legal trouble after orchestrating a dangerous stunt, almost like a statue, on top of an SUV in the middle of a national highway. Disregarding traditional rituals, the groom opted to pose atop a white SUV instead of riding a mare, a customary practice in Indian marriages.

A viral image circulating on social media depicted the groom standing proudly atop the SUV, adorned with floral decorations, as the procession made its way along the Delhi-Dehradun national highway. However, the extravagant display caught the attention of law enforcement authorities, leading to swift action.

Despite the groom’s aspirations for social media acclaim, the police intervened and seized the SUV, deeming the stunt reckless and endangering public safety. The incident has since ignited a wave of backlash on social media platforms, highlighting the pitfalls of chasing fame through risky behavior.

Identified as Ankit from Bhaila village in Saharanpur, the groom was en route to his bride’s house in Kushawali village in Meerut when the incident unfolded.

Yatender Singh Nagar, Circle Officer, confirmed that a police party halted the wedding procession on NH-58 after receiving reports of the groom’s dangerous stunt.

“The police party was informed about the video of the groom performing a dangerous stunt on the roof of an SUV. The Baraat was stopped on NH-58. The SUV used in the commission of the stunt has been impounded. Further probe is underway,” said Yatender Singh Nagar, (CO).

The infamous incident has garnered massive backlash on social media platforms like how youths are crazy chasing being famous on modern social media applications such as reels to being real.
