Indian Army Rescues ‘500 Stranded Tourists’ Amid Heavy Snowfall

Sikkim: The Indian Army undertook a daring rescue operation on Wednesday, saving over 500 stranded tourists in the Nathu-La area of East Sikkim, where heavy snowfall had left them stranded on the India-China border.

Upon receiving reports of approximately 175 vehicles with more than 500 tourists stranded along the India-China border, troops from the Trishakti Corps swiftly sprang into action despite sub-zero temperatures and adverse situations. Known for its vigilance in guarding the Himalayan borders, the Trishakti Corps prioritized the safety and well-being of the stranded individuals.

“The troops of the Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army rescued more than 500 stranded tourists after sudden snowfall in East Sikkim,” stated the army in an official statement.

The stranded tourists were provided with essential supplies such as hot meals, warm clothing, and immediate medical assistance. Additionally, arrangements were made for their safe transportation out of the area.

The Trihakti Corps shared videos and images of the rescue operation on its official social media platform, highlighting the courageous efforts undertaken to ensure the safety of all individuals involved.
