Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana in Panchkula on Thursday today. Saini becomes the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time. He was elected the BJP state legislature party leader unanimously on Wednesday.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, besides a large number of leaders across states, including national democratic Alliance (NDA) partners and chief ministers like – Yogi Adityanath, N Chandrababu Naidu among others. Also present were leaders of states ruled by party and its allies. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who could not come for the ceremony had sent a message of congratulations to Saini.
Apart from Chief Minister Saini, 10 cabinet ministers also took oath of office on Thursday. The cabinet can accommodate a maximum of 14 ministers, including the chief minister. Anil Vij, Krishan Kumar Bedi, Rao Narbir Singh, Krishan Lal Panwar, Vipul Goel have sworn into the Saini Cabinet.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a conclave of the NDA chief ministers and deputy chief ministers in Chandigarh later in the day after the oath-taking ceremony between 3 pm to 7 pm.
