New Delhi: Union Minister Prahlad Joshi on Tuesday said that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Finance Minister Sitharaman will contest Lok Sabha Elections.
Both the best-performing and eloquent ministers of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet, are likely to contest from South India.
Union Minister Prahlad Joshi confirmed the news that both S Jaishankar and Nirmala Sitharaman are going to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
S Jaishankar and Nirmala Sitharaman are currently members of the Rajya Sabha, Upper House of the Parliament of India.
“It has not been decided yet however where from Nirmala Sitharaman and Jaishankar will contest the seats,” Prahlad Joishi, who holds the Coal and Mines Portfolio said.
Contesting elections would possibly make them members of Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament. Both the ministers gained higher education from reputed Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
