Dwarka: Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a remarkable experience of underwater prayer of ‘Lord Krishna’ during a scuba-diving excursion at the site of the ancient Dwarkadhish Temple.
Dressed in traditional orange attire, PM Modi expressed that his underwater prayer was not an act of courage but rather a display of deep devotion towards the sacred temple.
Accompanied by teams of lifeguards and support staff, including navy divers, the 73-year-old Prime Minister was filmed diving into the waters off Panchkli Beach in Gujarat’s Dwarka. Amidst the ruins of the legendary ‘lost city’ associated with Lord Krishna, PM Modi offered peacock feathers and submerged himself deeply in prayer.
“I felt connected to an ancient era of spiritual grandeur and timeless devotion,” remarked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking on ‘X’.
“Dwarka Darshan under the waters. Where the spiritual and the historical converge, where every moment was a divine melody echoing Lord Shri Krishna’s eternal presence,” the PM said.
Dwarka, steeped in Hindu scriptures as the kingdom of Krishna, is believed to have been engulfed by the sea centuries ago. The Prime Minister’s unique act of devotion struck a chord with many, offering a glimpse into his profound faith.
The ancient kingdom of Lord Krishna remains one of the seven holy pilgrimage sites in India, further enriching the significance of PM Modi’s underwater prayer experience.
