Here is some bad news for the food shops, food trucks, restaurants or eateries as the Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) have increased the price of commercial LPG cylinders. The cost of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has gone up by Rs 62, making it Rs 1,802 in Delhi. Before this, it was priced at Rs 1,740. Smaller cylinders have also seen a price hike; the 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders increased by Rs 15.
However, there is no change in the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders.
The new prices are effective from immediate effect. This change will impact businesses and commercial establishments especially the small eateries or food joints. “We are the one who will suffer as the big names in the hotels or restaurants will adjust the increased price in their rate list,” said Raghu, a food truck owner in East Delhi.
According to oil companies, the increase in the price of this essential commodity takes the price of commercial LPG cylinders in the city of Mumbai to Rs 1,754.50. In the national capital, Delhi, the LPG prices rose to a cumulative of Rs 1,802.
This adjustment follows a previous hike on October 1, when the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders were raised by Rs 48.50 and the 5 kg FTL cylinders by Rs 12. The revised prices are a response to changing global market condition.
