Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat condemned the continuous communal violence taking place in Bangladesh. Bhagwat after greeting all on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami programme in Nagpur, requested the Hindu community to stand united and condemn the developments in Bangladesh. He also urged the India government to take active role in protecting the minorities.
Recently, unidentified ailments had hurled petrol bomb at a Durga Puja pandal. Over six people were critically injured. This came after a few days of forcefully presenting Muslim religious songs inside a Hindu temple. The Bangladesh government however, took the incident seriously and assured of action against the guilty.
The RSS Chief asked, “What happened in our neighbouring Bangladesh? It might have some immediate reasons, but the underlying issue is the repeated atrocities against Hindus.”
Bhagwat said, “These incidents are serious. For the first time, Hindus in Bangladesh had united and taken to the streets to defend themselves, but warned that the persistence of radical violence puts all minorities, not just Hindus, at risk.” He said all minorities are in danger. They need support from Hindus from the entire world and India’s government must step in.
Bhagwat said, “The country that received full support during its creation is now encouraging such a narrative against Bharat.”
Calling the recent incidents in Bangladesh is unfortunate and growing anti-India sentiment in Bangladesh, the RSS Chief said, “Discussions are reportedly taking place suggesting that the country should align with Pakistan due to its nuclear capabilities, seeing India as a threat.”
