Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) one time loyal and former Delhi Commission for Women, Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal alleged that contaminated water was being supplied to people of Delhi – residential areas like Sagarpur and Dwarka. Former DCW Chief came down heavily upon Delhi’s Chief Minister Atishi and asked her to fix water supply in the national capital in the next 15 days.
In a symbolic protest, Maliwal also brought a bottle of “black” contaminated water and placed it in front of the Chief Minister’s residence.
Maliwal said, “I went to a house and black water was being supplied there. I filled that black water in a bottle, and I brought that water here, at the Chief Minister’s residence.” She said its Atishi’s duty to provide healthy water after all she is Delhi’s water minister.
Swati accused the AAP government of doing nothing to make water better over the years. She said, “We have been hearing since 2015, that next year, everything will be fine. They have no shame even after seeing the black water as a sample.” “This is was a sample, If within fifteen days she does not fix the water supply of the entire Delhi, I will bring a whole tanker full of such water. I am leaving this water for her. She can bathe with this water, drink this water or purify her sins,” added Maliwal.
AAP which loves to beat its own trumpet, should not forget that Delhi is going to have Assembly polls next year. The party may claim that everything was fine and show Delhi as a model to everybody, the fact is these problems can ruin party’s hope to win Delhi.
