Shahid Kapoor Regrets Turning Down ‘Rang De Basanti’

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor recently revealed a past regret to have turned down the box buster 2006 hit film ‘Rang De Basanti’ due to his other commitments.

Kapoor confessed that he had declined the opportunity to star in the 2006 hit film “Rang De Basanti,” directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. He expressed remorse for missing out on the chance to portray the character of Karan Singhania, ultimately played by Siddharth in the film.

Explaining his decision, Kapoor shared that although he was deeply moved by the script and cried while reading it, he had to turn down the role due to prior commitments. Reflecting on the missed opportunity, The Actor admitted, “I regret not doing the film.”

Currently, Shahid Kapoor is enjoying the success of his latest film, “Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya,” co-starring Kriti Sanon.

The romantic drama, which surpassed Rs 50 crore at the box office, follows Kapoor’s character as he introduces Sanon’s character to his family, unaware that she is a robot. The film also features a cameo appearance by Janhvi Kapoor. The actor has a 15 million fan following on social media platform ‘X’.
