Cafe Manager Held After Dry Ice In Mouth Freshener Makes Five People Vomit Blood

GURUGRAM: Police arrested the manager of Sapphire Ninty Laforestta Café where persons vomited blood and fell ill after consuming dry-ice-containing mouth freshener in sector 90 of Millennium City.

Café Manager, Gagandeep, a resident of Delhi has been arrested in the case.

The shocking incident occurred on March 2 at around 9:30 pm when all the victims had come for dinner.

Ankit Kumar, accompanied by his wife Neha Sabarwal and friends Manika Goinka, Deepak Arora and Himani after dinner had been offered mouth fresheners by Café staff.

As per the Police investigation, as soon as the victims finished their meals, the restaurant waiter, Amrit Pal Kaur offered them mouth fresheners which resulted in an immediate deterioration of their health.

Ankit in his complaint said that those who consumed the mouth fresheners began to vomit blood.

He also alleged that despite their worsening condition, the restaurant management and staff did not assist them.

“Feeling helpless, I called the police helpline 100 following which with the assistance of police personnel we were admitted to a nearby hospital. We are still in shock how could a restaurant staff offer a deadly acid? This is a major blunder that could lead to death,” Ankit said.

During the probe, it was found that the victims were given ‘dry ice’ (acid), which is a deadly acid that can even lead to death.

Later, the victims were rushed to another Aarvy hospital where they underwent treatment.

“The manager has been arrested. He will be produced before a local court for further legal proceedings,” said Manoj Kumar, SHO, Kherki Daula police station.
