AUSTRALIA: A British Police officer who moved to Australia to start a new life died in a ghastly accident during his engagement party.
The incident happened on Sunday when the deceased identified as Laim Trimmer, 29, died at his home in Australia while partying with his friends and family members to announce his engagement.
During the celebration with his girl friend who works as a nurse, Trimmer slipped and cut the carotid artery in his neck.
According to Western Australia Police, family members and friends of Trimmer tried to save him but due to excessive bleeding he died before emergency services arrived at the spot.
“Everything was done to save his life but his family but it wasn’t to be. This is a devastating moment. I think they wish they could just wake up from this nightmare,” Police Commissioner Col Blanch said,
The circumstances of Trimmer’s death will be investigated at an inquest.
Trimmer was an extraordinary officer who loved helping in the community, moved to Australia from the UK in 2013.
He graduated from Joondalup Police Academy and appeared on the UK TV series ‘Wanted Down Under’ where he shared his life experience in Australia.
