UNITED KINGDOM: Recent police statistics have unveiled a concerning trend in the UK, with over 200,000 burglaries remaining unresolved last year. Shockingly, only six percent of these cases led to a suspect being charged, while a mere 25 percent were successfully solved in 2023.
The data highlights the magnitude of the issue, with a staggering total of 215,930 unsolved burglaries reported. Of particular concern is the performance of South Yorkshire police, with a dismal 16 per cent success rate in solving such cases.
In response to these findings, Alistair Carmichael, the Liberal Democrat Home Affairs spokesman, emphasized the fundamental right of every citizen to feel secure within their own homes. He emphasized the need for robust measures to address this pressing issue and ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals across the country.
