AAP on the verge of split? After Kailash Gahlot, more AAP leaders set to leave party

The political corridor in Delhi is abuzz with rumors speculating which Aam AAdmi Party (AAP) leader including minister is next to leave the party after Kailash Gahlot on Sunday. After his resignation, Gahlot accused AAP of not doing anything for the people in Delhi but had thought about themselves only. Gahlot raised the topic of ‘sheeshmahal’, “There are many controversies like ‘sheeshmahal’…” he said. His reference to the issue comes against the backdrop of BJP functionaries using the term to charge that Kejriwal spent crores on lavish items and modern facilities at his former official residence at 6 Flagstaff Road.

Kailash Gahlot on Monday officially joined the BJP.

After Gahlot who? This seems to be the big question that everyone is asking. Speculation are few more AAP leaders including ministers are ready to leave the party after former Chief Minister and AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal,, Deputy Chief Minister and state Education Minister, Manish Sisodia, state Health Minister Satyandra Jain, had to go to jail over liquor scam in Delhi.

Some of the AAP leaders who have left the party are – Prominent Dalit leader Rajendra Pal Gautam joined Congress, former AAP Minister Raaj Kumar Anand joined BJP. Apart from them, former AAP ministers like Asim Ahmad Khan, Kapil Mishra and Sandip Kumar had left the party.

These resignations are enough to explain the situation within the party as the self proclaimed “kattar imandar” (strictly honest) members are confused over the reputation of AAP which is going to have a great impact during Delhi Assembly elections. Many more names are expected to feature in the list of leaders set to resign the party.
