LUCKNOW: A bizarre incident was reported from a Lucknow-based hospital, where visitors were stunned to see a stray dog strolling with a severed human hand in its jaw inside Shatabdi Phase-II hospital.
When the visitors saw the dog with a human hand, they tried calling for help and reported it to hospital staff.
They chased the dog and it dropped a human hand in the garden area before running away. A hospital staff then removed it. They later also managed to catch the dog with the help of security.
The KGMU hospital administration is investigating to ascertain how the dog got a human hand. The records of amputated limbs were being checked.
Some onlookers said that there is speculation that it could have come from the nearby mortuary or errant attendants thrown amputated parts in garbage bins.
Someone speculated that there might have been a murder.
KGMU spokesperson prof Sudhir Singh said, “Our teams managed to catch the dog. We found a human body part, a piece of hand. We have also informed the police. It seems like the dog brought a piece of a human hand from outside the hospital premises which is a matter of investigation,”
