GURUGRAM: Impersonating themselves as Haryana police officers in a video uploaded on Instagram in police uniform to gain more viewers, Gurugram Police arrested four youths.
The suspects, identified as Sandeep Yadav, Sonu Yadav, Vipin, and Ritesh, all residents of Gurugram, were taken into custody on Thursday from the Manesar area, according to police.
Their arrest was made after the Gurugram police’s social media monitoring team detected a video circulating on various social media platforms.
The video depicted individuals, not affiliated with law enforcement, fabricating content while adorned in police attire and sharing it on Instagram.
Reportedly, the video showcased the suspects seated in two vehicles, a Mahindra Thar and a Scorpio, as they filmed the content.

“During questioning, the suspects disclosed that a YouTuber, identified as Deepak Sharma from Charkhi Dadri in Haryana, had visited Manesar and collaborated with them to produce the video. Sharma orchestrated the fabrication, filming the scenario and later uploading it on social media platforms to impress followers,” A senior police officer said.
