Here is some bad news for the residents of Noida and Ghaziabad as they won’t have water supply for 20 days starting October 13, 2024. The Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam and the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) have assured alternative. Residents might receive water in the mornings, and even then, the pressure will be low, leading to reduced supply.
This will happen because the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department will halt the Ganga water supply for 20 days. This stoppage is due to the annual maintenance work on the upper Ganga canal in Haridwar, which will affect around 10 lakh residents in areas like Indirapuram, Vasundhara, Vaishali, and Delta Colony.

Complaints have already emerged from Vasundhara Sector 9, where residents are struggling with daily tasks due to the water shortage. Many have resorted to purchasing bottled water for their basic needs.
In some areas, such as Kaushambi and Vasundhara Sector 10, broken pipelines have further worsened the situation, leaving several areas without any water supply at all.
